Portrait of Liz Giles.
  • Liz Giles grew up on the coast of Maine before pursuing theater and film in Boston and New York City. She received her undergraduate degree in theatre from NYU in 2000.

During her undergraduate years she became fascinated with movement and exploring how our movement patterns tell so much of our story. Her artistic attraction to movement quickly turned scientific when a back injury prompted her to find ways to heal and prevent this injury from recurring. She experienced profound results after practicing Pilates for just a short amount of time. Compelled to share this method with others, she became a certified Pilates trainer, focusing on rehab and injury prevention, in 2003. Her desire to do even more for her clients later prompted her to return to school. Dr. Giles earned her doctorate in chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude with both academic and clinical honors, from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Giles is constantly exploring and learning new techniques to help her patients. She has taken courses in Graston technique, the Activator method, K-taping, Sacro-Occipital technique and is certified in A.R.T. (Active Release Technique) and SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment).

Dr. Giles is known for her compassionate and gentle approach and is honored to be designated as one of Portland Monthly’s Top Docs from 2015-2022.

  • As a native Oregonian, Becky enjoys frolicking in the rain and wearing a hoody on a cold beach. After numerous sports injuries and a few wrecked cars, by her mid 20’s she felt like a 80 year old, minus the wisdom. She began seeing a Pilates instructor for one-on-one sessions and fell in love with the method of intelligent exercise and rehabilitation.

Becky specializes in therapeutic Pilates, focusing on rehabilitating and preventing injuries and managing chronic pain. Utilizing Pilates equipment and the principles of body biomechanics, she helps her clients create more efficient patterns of movement, strengthen the core postural muscles to support and align the spine and other joint complexes, and restore proper breathing patterns. She strongly believes in the mind-body connection, and works to honor the unique histories, needs and goals of each individual.

When Becky isn’t with clients she works as a landscape designer, and also enjoys Latin dancing, making music, and playing outdoors.

  • Michael Houle, DC grew up in Marquette, Michigan and was very active in youth sports and outdoor recreation. His love of athletics brought him to Michigan State University to pursue his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology which he received in 2014. During this time, he interned with the strength and conditioning program for Olympic sports, working with student-athletes competing in gymnastics, swimming/diving, basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Michael pursued a career as a professional ice hockey referee which had him travel throughout the country for a five year span. This was where he was introduced to the Sports Chiropractic profession. After hanging up his stripes, he applied to University of Western States in Portland, Oregon where he graduated in 2022 with his Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master’s in Sports Medicine.

Utilizing various modalities - restorative movement, mobility work, IASTM (cupping, scraping, myofascial release), taping, and chiropractic adjustments - Dr. Houle’s goals as a physician are to provide individualized, movement-based care for anyone dealing with persistent aches and pains, acute injuries, or injury prevention and get them back to moving confidently as quickly as possible.

Outside of the office, Michael can be found Nordic and Alpine skiing or mountain biking with his wife, Sophia, and their dog, Sequoia.

  • As a Doctor of Chinese medicine, teacher of voice and the Alexander Technique, and former opera singer, Dr. James takes pride in offering an integrated approach to healing. Through the combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, guasha, cupping, Chinese herbs, Alexander Technique, qigong, and voice work, he strives to provide optimum healing for his clients.

Dr. James is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, the New England Conservatory, Alexander Technique New York City, AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine and Five Branches University. He combines over 10 years of study and practice of Chinese medicine with 15 years of Alexander Technique teaching experience.

His journey into integrative medicine began with personal challenges– to improve his mobility, pain and singing. He studied Alexander Technique as a tool for his own opera singing and then trained to teach the technique at AT-NYC under John Nicholls and Nanette Walsh. Jameson uses the Alexander Technique to address the root of habits which often lead to disease. By improving breathing, posture and movement, the technique can help relieve back pain, neck pain, headache, stress, improve mobility, resolve balance issues, address lack of coordination, lessen the ‘fear reaction’ triggered by change, and alleviate voice problems.

In addition to his doctoral training and licensing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, he studied ancient Japanese techniques–including pediatric shonihari with Senseis Kuwahara and Manaka in Japan, Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture with Martha Lucas in Boulder, and the Shen/Hammer school of Neoclassical Pulse studies with Dr. William Morris in Canada.

On a personal note, Jameson loves opera. In fact, he lived in NYC for nearly ten years singing and studying with some of the best in the world. Occasionally, you will hear him sing with some local opera groups and even in the office. When he is not working with patients, he loves to cook with foraged mushrooms, tend to his flock of chickens, sing opera, run or hike the trails, or even practice some yoga.

  • Hi there! I am Skye.

I have always held a deep passion and curiosity about the human body; from childhood to now, I have participated in movement arts and held genuinely nerdy enthusiasm for anatomy and physiology. Much of my enthusiasm has previously been expressed through teaching yoga and barre fitness classes. My experience with embodiment through movement has always drawn me to be curious with bodywork. I attended East West College of the Healing Arts and have only gained more excitement for providing nurturing, supportive, and intentional massage therapy.

Consent and open communication are at the core of my therapeutic approach. I understand that every person who walks through my door brings their own unique history, experiences, and boundaries. By fostering a safe and respectful environment, I strive to ensure that each of my clients feel empowered and comfortable throughout their massage sessions. Their trust and active participation in the process are paramount to achieving the best possible outcomes.

My bodywork style is inspired by myofascial release, deep tissue, Swedish, and Thai massage modalities; blending these techniques allows me to provide a comprehensive therapeutic experience that caters to the specific needs of each individual client.
